It is important to note that a person who smokes is not a candidate for this surgery due to poor healing and compromised health. Due to advanced techniques, operative time is shorter and general anesthesia is not required in most cases. Bruising and discomfort is minimal. Advanced pre-operative regimens improve comfort and recovery. Routinely, the outpatient procedure takes 1-2 hours. The patient returns to the office the next morning for checkup. Usually 2-3 days before returning to work is adequate.
